In my Home Lockdown 2020 with Jacqueline Hamilton
Big Hello to Jacqueline Hamilton from SeafordE Interiors
Jacqueline Thank you so much for taking the time to chat to me .....
Can you tell us what you do?
I’m a commercial and residential interior designer. I love what I do and have adapted well these last few weeks. There’s been a lot of people getting in contact wanting to get their houses re-vamped.
Who have you been sharing your home with during lockdown?
My husband Tony, my two teenage children and Yorkie dog Gizmo
How has this strange time been for you personally?
Tony and I both work from home so we are used to that, not used to having the kids around all the time, but it’s been great. We have definitely got closer as a family. It was strange for all 3 of them as they have had their birthdays this month, so strange not to have parties, friends and family coming and going.
What project have you been putting off that you completed during Quarantine?
I have been getting on with my website with Newry Mourne and Down mentoring programme. So I have been having zoom meetings with my mentor and he has been helping with my website which definitely needed updated and it was great to do that.
Have you created anything new?
I have been lucky these last few weeks as a lot of people have been getting in touch to get their homes re-vamped. It’s been great to do this via video call which means I’m still being creative and am still able to work. It’s amazing how you can adapt.
What are you planning on doing next?
My son and daughter want their own rooms done up, so I’ll have to schedule time in to do that..I’d like to do our living room up..there’s always something to do.!
Have you bought yourself a treat since March?
I have been buying fresh flowers every week of lockdown and it’s really helped me get through-kept me grounded and it’s lovely to have flowers in the house. I’ve bought a few new T-shirt’s and books too.
What have you started doing since March that you plan to keep doing?
As I’m a very sociable person I love seeing and meeting people so my coping mechanism has been posting every day on my social media and sharing tips.. this has been great to keep in touch with people and I have got a lot more followers so I’m going to keep on doing that, I’ve really enjoyed it.
